FEDERAL COLLEGE OF ORTHOPAEDIC TECHNOLOGY (FECOT) MATRICULATES STUDENTS FOR THE 2022/2023 ACADEMIC SESSION
The Federal College of Orthopaedic Technology, National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi Lagos has matriculated ninety three students for the 2022/2023 academic session.
The Medical Director, Dr. M. F. Alimi represented by the Head, Clinical Services Dr. K. O. Idowu In his words of advice to the new students said, “I will implore you to please make the best of the opportunity to remain at the top whatever is worth, it entails a bit of labour at the beginning”. He admonished the students to be studious and abide by the rules and regulations of the school to enable them perform excellently in their chosen field. The Head of TSERS Dr. T. O. Osisanya charged the new students to study hard in order to achieve success and be great leaders in their chosen fields. He added that there was zero tolerance for misconduct and as such indiscipline would not be condoned. He further advised the students to discuss with the school authorities any challenges. He concluded that they should strive to uphold the confidence their parents reposed in them. The Provost of the College Mr. J. O. Eludinni in his address encouraged the students to be ambassadors of as “evil communication corrupt good manners”. He implored them on upholding the tenets of the Institution. On her part the Ag. Head of Administration Mrs. R. O. Onotsojah Adedoyin congratulated the students and encouraged them to be focused while abiding with the school oath. The Ag. Registrar of the College Mr. Eric A. Aigbe expressed appreciation to the Management Team for their assistance to the institution and pleaded for continuous support. The matriculants who were admitted into the different discipline of the institution included 33 students in Orthopaedic Cast Technology 27 students in Prosthetics & Orthotics Technology at the Ordinary Diploma levels. The College also admitted 16 Orthopaedic Cast Technology students and 17 Prosthetics & Orthotics Technology students at the Higher National Diploma level respectively.
